Required documents and visas
Please, please READ this carefully!

Every passenger will need a valid passport to clear immigration at the port. The only exceptions are cruises that do not leave South African waters (e.g. Nowhere Cruises or Coastal Cruises between Durban and Cape Town) should you be travelling on a Nowhere Cruise or a Coastal Cruise between Durban and Cape Town official photo ID is required. This ID can be in the form of an ID Book, Passport or Driver’s License. In the case of children travelling on a Nowhere or Coastal Cruise, and do not have any other form of positive identification, a birth certificate is required.

Visas and Inoculations
Tanzania – port of call Zanzibar
All passport holders including South Africans require a visa for Tanzania. The visa can be arranged on board – currently the charge is $50 per person*.

Yellow Fever documentation or a medical note advising an allergy to the vaccination is required to visit Tanzania - whether or not the passenger goes ashore. Boarding may be denied if these regulations are not met.

Kenya – port of call Mombasa
Visas are not required by South African passport holders for a stay of up to 30 days. Visas for non-South African passport holders can be arranged on board – currently the charge is $20 per person*. Yellow Fever documentation or a medical note advising an allergy to the vaccination is required to visit Kenya - whether or not the passenger goes ashore. Boarding may be denied if these regulations are not met.

Reunion
Visas are required for Reunion, and can be arranged with the French Consulate prior to your trip. The current charge is Euros 35 per person* and the processing time for South African passport holders is approximately 2 working days.

South African passport holders do not require visas for Mozambique, Namibia, Mauritius or Seychelles.

Entrance requirements for countries & visa costs change on a regular basis. Although these details were correct as at June 2007, they are subject to change and should be checked prior to cruising.

Please do NOT:

  • Leave your passport in your main luggage - If you do it will go on-board and we may not be able to find it amongst thousands of bags!

  • Forget your passport at home - If you do you will not be able to sail! This is a ruling by the SA Customs and SARS.
